5-Ingredient Stuffed Pepper Pasta

Ingredients

  • 250 g 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini work best)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 bell peppers any color, chopped
  • 300 g 10 oz ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 2 cups 480 ml tomato sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional but recommended: shredded cheese for topping

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Sauté the vegetables
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Cook the diced onion and chopped bell peppers for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  • Brown the meat
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart, until fully browned (about 6–8 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Add the sauce
  • Pour in the tomato sauce. Stir well, season with salt and pepper, and let simmer for 5 minutes to combine the flavors.
  • Combine with pasta
  • Add the cooked pasta into the skillet. Toss everything together until evenly coated.
  • Serve
  • Serve warm as-is, or top with shredded cheese and let it melt before serving.
