Riley Green Finally Breaks His Silence

Riley Green may be one of country music’s biggest heartthrobs, but when it comes to marriage and starting a family, the new The Voice coach admits he still has a lot to figure out.

The country star has kept much of his personal life private while building his career. But as he steps into his first season as a coach on The Voice, Green has opened up about whether settling down and having children could be part of his future.

Green previously told Billboard that having a family is something he thinks about often, but his busy career has made it difficult to imagine right now.

“I think about it a lot,” Green said. “At this point in my life, I don’t know how I could do it.”

For Green, slowing down and finding a more normal life would likely need to happen before he could seriously think about marriage and fatherhood.

“Things are going to have to slow down and get a little bit more of a sense of normalcy before I could really think about settling down and having a family,” he explained.

Still, the idea clearly appeals to him. Green said he would like to have a family someday and even sees a creative side to becoming a father.

“It’s definitely something I’d like to do,” he said, adding that he is curious about how such a major change in his life could influence his songwriting.

For now, though, Green is focused on making the most of his career while the opportunities keep coming.

“I know that it will end at some point,” he said. “It’s such a battle to stay relevant in this world.”

Green knows he has more opportunities now than ever, so he wants to keep moving forward while he can.

That mindset is also carrying into his new role on The Voice.

The Voice' coach Kelly Clarkson offers her hair to beat Riley Green

Season 30 marks Green’s first time sitting in a coach’s chair, alongside Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and Queen Latifah. And former coach Blake Shelton has already joked that Green has everything he needs to attract singers.

“Well, he’s country, personality, and good looks, so he’s like the triple threat,” Shelton said. “No one’s ever gonna say ‘no’ to Riley Green when he turns around.”

Whether that charm works in the red chair is now part of Green’s new journey. But when it comes to finding a wife and starting a family, the country star appears to be taking his time and waiting for the right moment.
