Rich chocolate brownies with a cherry twist, inspired by the classic Black Forest cake.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup canned cherries, drained
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- Mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
- Add eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
- Fold in cherries and chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Use fresh cherries if in season.
- Dust with powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
