Why do these parmesan rolls work

Fluffy dinner rolls slathered in garlic butter go with so many main dishes! They’re an easy side that is very versatile.

These parmesan garlic rolls are a semi-homemade recipe where we take something that has already been created jazz it up and put our own touch on it. You can turn ordinary frozen rolls into mouthwatering fresh buttery rolls dripping with herb butter.

These garlic rolls are simple enough for everyday dinners yet fancy enough for holiday dinners.

Ingredients Needed

  • Frozen dinner rolls: you’ll need 18 frozen rolls
  • Flour: all purpose flour
  • Butter: unsalted or salted is fine.
  • Herbs: minced garlic and freshly chopped parsley
  • Parmesan cheese: grated parmesan cheese

How to make garlic parmesan dinner rolls

  • Step 1: Lightly add flour to a cutting board or work surface and cut each dinner roll in half.
  • Step 2: Roll each half into a ball on the lightly floured surface.
  • Step 3: Grease the muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray and add three dough balls to each of the muffin cups.
  • Step 4: Cover the muffin tin with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place until they’ve doubled in size.
  • Step 5: In a small bowl, add the butter and garlic. Use short bursts of time in the microwave to melt the butter. Stir in between each burst. Add fresh parsley to the garlic butter and stir.
  • Step 6: Use a pastry brush to add the garlic parmesan topping on top of the rolls.
  • Step 7: Sprinkle each roll with parmesan cheese.
  • Step 8: Bake in the oven until golden brown. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Recipe Tips

  • If you can’t find the rolls, the frozen loaf should work. Thaw as directed the cut into strips then into 1 1/4 inch balls.
  • The required rise time for these soft dinner rolls may vary depending on the temperature of your kitchen and other factors.
  • When cutting the rolls, try to cut them into equal pieces.
  • For another delicious take on these soft rolls, use some of my homemade garlic butter compound with fresh herbs in place of the butter mixture you make here. You’ll just need to melt it to brush it on.
  • When reheating these rolls add some more melted butter and stir in some fresh garlic to brush on the warmed tops of the rolls so they’re just as garlicky as when you first made them.
