Ingredients
→ Main Ingredients
1 12-inch Italian sub loaf, purchased from the deli
3-4 tablespoons Italian dressing
1/4 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
1/4 cup sliced marinated roasted red peppers
1/4 pound capicola ham, thinly sliced
1/4 pound ham, thinly sliced
1/4 pound salami, thinly sliced
1/8 pound pepperoni, thinly sliced
1/4 pound Fontina cheese, thinly sliced
Red pepper flakes, to taste
Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the 12-inch sub loaf into two 6-inch halves if preferred, then slice it widthwise to butterfly it, keeping it attached at the bottom.
Brush both sides of the butterflied loaf with the Italian dressing.
Evenly distribute the pepperoncini peppers and marinated roasted red peppers over each side of the loaf.
Layer the capicola, ham, salami, pepperoni, and Fontina cheese evenly on both halves of the loaf.
Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the layers to taste. Place the loaded loaf on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-13 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the ingredients are heated through.
Remove the loaf from the oven, close the halves together, and slice each into portions if desired. Serve immediately.
