Ingredients
→ Beef
1.5 lbs Thinly Sliced Ribeye
1 cup White Onion, cubed
1.5 tbsp Kosher Salt
1.5 tbsp Black Pepper
1.5 tbsp Garlic Powder
Canola Oil, as needed
→ Cheesesteaks
Sandwich Bun
1 cup Pizza Sauce
10-12 Pepperonis
10-12 slices Mozzarella Cheese
Steps
Heat your grill at high heat (around 450°F) for direct cooking.
Place a cast iron skillet or plancha over the flames. Add the thinly sliced ribeye and chop it further to make it finely cut. Once fully cooked with no red remaining, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and diced onions. Let cook until onions are translucent (about 2-3 minutes).
Top the cooked beef with pizza sauce, sliced mozzarella cheese, and pepperonis. Shape the meat mixture on the skillet to match the size of the bun. Cover with more cheese and let it melt.
Place the sliced sandwich bun over the pile of meat. Lift the meat into the bun, place the cheesesteak onto a platter, and repeat for the remaining buns.
For additional flavor, wrap the completed cheesesteaks in foil and let them sit for 1-2 minutes. Slice in half, serve, and enjoy.
